Seatbelt Laws for Dogs

Drivers in NSW face fines of up to $422 for unrestrained dogs. The legislation states that drivers must not drive with an animal in their lap or preventing them from having effective control. The penalty includes 3 demerit points and a fine of $338 or $422 in school zones.
Animals injured as a result of being unrestrained face up to 6 months in jail and fines up to $5500.
A selection of dog restraints is available in store.

Doggy Day Care

Paws Up is an indoor doggy day care facility on the Pacific Highway in St Leonards.

We have tunnels, tents, toys, pet loos, doggie beds, airconditioning and secure fences. We teach our dogs to play and be social, run out our energy, have a few naps and give out lots of cuddles and treats!

Reasons to use doggy daycare

- Is your puppy bored and chewing things in your home?
- Do you work full time and don’t want to leave your dog alone 5 days a week?
- Is your dog extra high energy?
- Do you want your dog to become more comfortable around other dogs and be more social?
- Are you renovating your home and don’t want your dog walking in paint, concrete or to bother the workers?
- Has it been raining and become too hard to walk your dog?

- Day care is an excellent way to socialise your dog
- It provides a full day of exercise
- We provide basic training every day
- It is mentally stimulating
- Save your valuable weekend time by getting your dog groomed midweek and looked after at the same time!
- Meet other dog owners in social atmosphere at pick up time and on our excursions
- Dogs go home happy and EXHAUSTED, they love it!

Large & Strong dogs policy

As Paws Up is a fully indoor centre that caters to mainly small and medium sized dogs, we are unable to accept large breed dogs. In addition, we are also unable to take Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Boxers, Pitbulls, Fighting Dogs and some other strong breeds.
Dogs need to be split by size and temperament and although we are a large centre, each space would become smaller and therefore limit the enjoyment had by our furry friends.  This ensures there is a lot of space for the comfort of all dogs in our care. Please do not ask us to make an exception for your dog, this will only lead to refusal and embarrassment.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
